Antony & Karen Day teamed up in 1977 following a “Partner Wanted” add, placed in the Dance News. They started their competitive careers as Juniors and progressed through to the Adult ranks where they achieved the ranking of 24 in the British Amateur League Table. In 1996 Tony & Karen turned professional and qualified as Associate Teachers with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. GDC teaches Modern Ballroom, Latin American & Disco. GDC is a member of the ISTD and holds regular medal tests throughout the year.

Children’s classes are fun and sociable. We take children from the age of 3 years, and even at this young age they can learn the very basics of Ballroom, Latin and Disco. As well as learning the fundamentals of dancing they are able to meet friends and have fun.

Some children like to take their dancing a step further and enjoy competing in local and national medallist competitions, many of our pupils are regular finalist and winners. (See studentprofiles).

Adult classes are held in a friendly, sociable atmosphere. Come and enjoy learning Ballroom, Latin American and other Latin Rhythms. It is a good way to meet other people. You can come as a group, couple or just on your own. Medal Tests are held twice yearly with ISTD (The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). Both adults and children love to achieve and find these very rewarding. We have had excellent results achieving 100% pass rate in our recent examination.

We are very proud of all our pupils that attend the school whether or not they wish to take medals, compete or just enjoy dancing socially. Dancing helps children to grow in confidence, helps with co-ordination as well as being good exercise and fun.
